A family of painters, not a print factory

Omi Art Shop began as something much older than a shop — decades of painting, observation, and craft passed between generations. Our family's work has been acquired by European museum collections. That didn't change who we are. We still create art the same way we always have.

Frequently asked questions

What makes Omi Art Shop different from other art shops?

Most print shops source work from a catalogue of artists they've never met. Omi is a family of painters. The prints you find here come directly from people who made them — not from a supplier, not from a print-on-demand platform.

Our family's paintings are held in European museum collections. That history is part of what you're buying into — not as a boast, but as context. You are buying from artists with a documented, collected body of work.

What does "museum-collected" actually mean?

It means that original works by members of our family have been formally acquired by European museum collections — not loaned, not displayed temporarily, but purchased and held as part of a permanent collection.

This matters because museum acquisition is a form of external, institutional validation of an artist's work. It is not something that can be purchased or arranged. We mention it not to impress, but because we think you deserve to know the full picture of who you're buying from.

How are the prints made — what is giclee print?

Giclée (pronounced zhee-clay) is a professional-grade inkjet printing process used by museums and galleries worldwide for fine art reproduction. It uses pigment-based inks on acid-free, archival paper — meaning the colours hold for generations without fading.

It is the closest reproduction technology currently available to the quality of an original painting. Our prints are produced on heavyweight cotton or rag paper, depending on the work.

What sizes are available, and do you offer framing?

Most prints are available in A5, A4, A3, A2, and 50×70cm — check individual listings for the sizes available for each work, as some compositions suit particular proportions better than others.

Prints are sold unframed. We made this decision deliberately — framing is personal, and the right frame for your space is not something we can choose for you. All prints arrive flat-packed in protective tissue and a rigid board mailer.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes — we ship worldwide. All orders are sent flat, not rolled, in rigid board packaging designed to protect the print during transit. Tracking is included with every order.

If you have a specific delivery question before you order, you are welcome to write to us directly. A real person — from the family — will reply.

Can I return a print if it's not right for my space?

We want you to be certain before you buy — which is why each listing includes detailed dimensions, colour descriptions, and the story behind the work. If a print arrives damaged, we will replace it without question.

For returns on undamaged prints, please get in touch within 14 days of receiving your order. Because editions are limited and prints are handled individually, we ask that returns are in original condition. Write to us first — we will always try to find the right outcome.
